Now that we’ve been in Portland a year, I wanted to let you know how happy we have been here.
The house has been wonderful, so much light from outside and expansive enough to accommodate the waves of visitors we had all summer. We had times of every bedroom filled and a tent full of kids in the backyard. Made us appreciate that we went for house "bigger than we needed." Even more than the house, we love our neighborhood. We've gotten to know people all around us (many sweet 30 somethings), shared gardening tips and produce, watched each others houses while away. Our police officer neighbor down the street says he's got neighborhood security under control. Joe adores riding his bike to work every day. He rode all last winter except for a handful of days.
