Tom Tom

You know when you meet a person and just instantly click? Like to the point of having hilarious nicknames for eachother in the matter of hours? That was John and I. John was relocating from Baltimore and had an insatiable curiosity for all things Portland. Namely food and drink… right up my alley! John, aka Tom Tom, was so much fun to look at houses with. We looked all over close-in eastside for his perfect combination of modern and classic: funky Tabor homes with incredible views; classic Alameda charmers; cool Clinton/Division bungalows; and just a few Beaumont-Wilshire homes. Lo and behold, the perfect home, complete with classic charm and impeccable remodeling, surfaced a few blocks north of Fremont in Beaumont-Wilshire. John walked in and I could see the wheels of excitement turn in his head in a way that no other home had done for him. He took to spread-sheeting the comps (a man after my own excel heart), and we put an offer in. It was a tough negotiation, but on Christmas Eve, we came to a deal. John and his sweet pup Jackson now have an incredible home, with an incredible yard, in an incredible neighborhood… and John and I have nicknames forever! Congratulations from Patches to Tom Tom!

I fondly remember growing up in a quaint, classic 100-year-old bungalow. My mom was an avid gardener, planted fragrant flowers, fruit trees, and veggies and incorporated quirky tile mosaics throughout our backyard. My favorite part of my childhood home, however… the pull down stairs to the attic which led to my playroom! The fireplace, hardwood floors, and front porch where I spent so much time evoke a such a feeling of family and home for me. I so appreciate the uniqueness of Portland area homes, and being able to re-live how houses evolve from their original build to how they live today, picturing families and stories along the way. My transition to real estate from non-profit residential energy efficiency work was catalyzed by my attraction to the innovativeness and creativeness of the Portland housing stock. It was also super important to me to tap into my community in a deeper way; connecting with people one-on-one and being able to actually see the positive outcomes of my work in a tangible way. Being a real estate agent allows me to form deep and meaningful connections with people while satisfying my own insatiable curiosity for Portland homes. I approach my work for my clients as if I’m in their shoes, buying or selling. It’s personal! It’s critical that my clients have an authentic and enjoyable experience working with me, with honesty and integrity being my top priority all the time. My goal is to evolve the perception of real estate agents from perhaps less than trustworthy sales folks to client-focused, highly trusted and thoughtful individuals. When I have free time, you might catch me enjoying some live music or dancing with PDX Dance Collective (did I mention I have a degree in dance?). I also love to hike with Patrick, my husband, and my mini Australian Shepherd puppy, Stringer Bell. Admittedly where you’re most likely to catch me, however, is eating and drinking delicious food and cocktails at the many great Portland restaurants. If I’m not it town, I’m likely in the southern Caribbean… it feels like a second home! I am an accredited Earth Advantage Broker, Accessory dwelling unit (ADU) specialist, and I have also received the Five Star Real Estate Agent Award, recognizing outstanding service professionals. It would be my honor to serve you in buying or selling your home! Nicolette Hanna Earth Advantage Accredited Broker Licensed in Oregon
