Summiting The Mountain – A First Time Buyer’s Journey

Summiting the mountain – A first time buyer’s journey.

As determined, active, and successful as he is, Carl couldn’t sit on the sidelines of home ownership any longer.  He’s a dedicated Master Sergeant of the Oregon Air National Guard, community minded full time Analyst with TriMet, and an avid hiker, bicyclist, kayaker, and all things in health and fitness.  He put himself through college earning multiple degrees, including his Masters in Public Administration.

What can this man not do?! <- Theres really no limit!

Summiting the mountain of ‘first time home ownership’ at times seemed almost impossible.  Carl shared with me that he had been actively trying to buy his first home for the past 4 years.

I was Realtor number 5, yes 5!

When we originally met back in 2012 we didn’t know we’d be teaming up 6 years later for one of his lifetime milestones.  Recently, as we sat down and discussed goals and expectations, I learned something new!  Originally, he had the idea in his head that buying his first home meant he should expect to live in and own it for many decades to come.  Say it ain’t so?!

We then painted the picture of his future together and concluded the following: With his ever evolving career, life aspirations, and growing success, he realized his first home is a stepping stone to the rest of his life.

Just as all his past training, education, and experiences have been.  I was able to save him over $15,000 and also bought him an upgraded home warranty package.  While the local real estate market may be slowing down in some areas, Carl certainly is not.  I’m proud to say that today, he has officially summited the mountain!
