This sweet Sumner abode just sold!

Have you heard of digging a statue of St. Joseph in your yard when you need to sell a home? There’s a superstition that’s said to work where you bury a statue of St. Joseph upside facing the home and his powers will bring you a buyer. No need to worry, this isn’t a religious rant or anything and for all we know it didn’t help us one bit. But just as we were feeling the shift of the market looming over us like a cloudy Portland day, a buyer for our cute home put our worries at bay.  At the eleventh hour we came to terms with and proceeded onward to an efficient close.

There’s a lesson to be learned in every transaction. Like when remodeling a home don’t cover up the cleanout for a sewer scope with drywall. Or a reminder of the importance of communication with all parties involved, no matter what side you’re on. But above all, setting the expectation with your client that in this business compromise is a very real thing that will likely need to happen. Thankfully our well-experienced sellers are aware of these key factors and made our job seamless!

In this industry it’s all about who you surround yourself with and the relationships you create. When you have a contractor who is willing to go the extra mile, keep them in your inner circle for they will make your life so much easier in the long run. Same goes for your preferred escrow officer. Those people will make you look better and help others trust you and your decisions, especially when it’s down to the wire.

We’re happy the buyer has a wonderful home but we’re elated our sellers can walk away from their home knowing they did everything in their power to make it as great as can be for the next owner.
