As a realtor, I understand how important school districts and zoning can be for families- but never as much as I did with this sale. My client came to me in tears, explaining that she has no choice but to sell her house. My first thoughts floated from a possible job relocation or perhaps an arm mortgage gone sideways. I couldn’t be further away from the reality. This was a mother that would quite literally do anything for the sake of her son, even if that meant selling and uprooting her home of 12+ years that she had remodeled with her own two hands, raised a son in, and meticulously maintained. We weren’t moving her across the country, not even state lines but simply over one town. One town, so this boy could stay in his favorite school, with his best friends and his baseball team. I was able to spend some one on one time with the sweet guy during the next home search, he mumbled he was sad to leave his home and that he’s only had to memorize one address his whole life… I’m pleased to say we have found the perfect home in the perfect neighborhood, for the perfect next chapter (and he’s already memorized the new address).
