Halloween is the Undisputed BEST Holiday
With a long history in TV production, with such titles under my belt as Grimm and the Librarians, it goes without saying that I might have just a slight obsession with Halloween. Especially now that we have our two daughters, I love going all out for Halloween. Coincidentally, so does the rest of Portland! In my neighborhood, and across North Portland, we are lucky to have gorgeous and historic Queen Anne’s and Victorians dabbled across the area, and many of them are an attraction unto themselves during this time of year. Some even throw full-blown haunted houses, allowing for a walk-through of these historic homes! Not to be missed! Finally, keep tabs on my Instagram (@househunterpdx) as I highlight some of these creative and spooky displays this season.

If You’re Visiting Portland…
Or looking for some Halloween themed festivities, here are a few I’ll definitely be keeping my eye on!
Children in tow:
- Sauvie Island Pumpkin Patches: There are several farms on the island that host a variety of pumpkin patches, hay bale rides and haunted (and not-haunted) mazes. Spend a day in a beautiful fall setting with lots of festive foods and beverages!
- Festival of the Fairies @ St. Helens Waterfront | Family Fun & Magic, Vendors, Goats in Pajamas, Costumes & More!
- Watch “Hocus Pocus” on the big screen! There are several showings of this holiday classic going on around town. Check out McMenamin’s Mission Theatre and Pub for family-friendly showings:https://www.mcmenamins.com/mission-theater
- There will be plenty of Halloween walks happening in every neighborhood. Let your littles strut their stuff in their costumes prior to the big day.
- St. Johns Halloween Walk: October 27th 1:00pm-3:00pm
- Trick or Treat on Denver Street (Kenton): Thursday October 26th, from 5pm – 7pm along N. Denver (& Side Streets) between N. Schofield & N. Argyle!
Adult-friendly:
There is so much to do in Portland any given week in Portland. But a theme always makes things more fun! If you’re ever looking for something to do in Portland, keep your eye on https://www.pdxpipeline.com, a great resource for the goings-ons of Portland!

My name is Eldridge D Huntington III: a name I’m very proud to have even if it doesn’t exactly fit my personality.
My family and friends call me JR. It’s a long story, but the short answer to the short name is Dallas. I was born in Fargo, raised in Detroit, lived in Chicago for 11 years, and now I’m truly home in Portland.
Real estate was not my first career. I studied film at Columbia College. Although I was more interested in cinematography I found I was better suited as a Producer. Assembling and managing crews, scheduling, accounting and being a part of a project from the idea to the time it hits the screen was extremely fulfilling. After 7 years of producing I began working in the art department creating, designing and bringing sets to life. I worked on Major motion pictures like Nightmare on Elm street, Public Enemies, Time travelers wife, Wild, Grimm and Librarians. With a background in design and long history of managing multiple high level projects I have found a perfect balance as a Realtor. I love multi-tasking, working with a team to pull off amazing feats and using an analytical approach creatively.
I moved to Portland in 2009 with my wife Gina. We currently live in the Portsmouth neighborhood with our two daughters, Estelle and Etta. We purchased our first family home in 2011. We found a little yellow bungalow with a cedar fence and fell deeply in love with it at first sight. We attempt to be gardeners in the summer and rehab addicts during the winter. Most of my spare time is well spent making memories with these wonderful people and working on the house. My favorite things about Portland are the access to natural beauty, outstanding food, the kind and adventurous people and the beer.
