Been to the OC lately?

By Kristine Lebow, June 27, 2018

Oregon City is not just an exit off  I 205.  About 20 miles south of Portland, Oregon City is a small town situated right on the Willamette river  with a charming downtown, and is home to several truly unique landmarks that are worth exploring. Here’s a little about the top 2, check back later for more.

#1- The Oregon City Municipal Elevator.  It’s  the only one of its kind in the country and one of only four in the world.   The Elevator is  130-foot and connects  downtown Oregon City with the historic McLoughlin neighborhood. It operates 7 days a week and the ride is free.  The observation deck at the top is shaped like a flying saucer and was completed in 1955. The original water powered version was built in 1915, which brings us to:

#2-Willamette Falls- a horseshoe shaped waterfall and the Second Largest waterfall in the US (by volume)!  It’s 42 ft high, and 1,500 ft wide with the oldest continuously operating multi-lift lock and canal system in the United States.

Growing up in the Portland area, I have spent decades living in and exploring Portland and surrounding areas from Newberg to Astoria to Sandy. Part of what I can help you do is figure out where you want to live- Your home is where you establish roots and build community, and your neighborhood is key. I came to real estate after 25 years as a design professional/ product manager in the sports and luxury apparel industry.  Those years of planning, negotiation and marketing were great preparation for guiding clients through the intricacies of buying or selling a home, and I love the process. My joy comes from helping people find solutions-  whether it’s finding the perfect house, making a move to a new home or just exploring options.First, we review your needs and wants,  then create a plan that fits your budget and timing. Thinking of Buying? When you find a house you want to become your home,  I will guide you through the offer and inspection process, including any negotiations on terms or repairs. You will know exactly where we are in the process and what your options are. Time to Sell? Knowing what buyers are looking for helps me help you get your home ready to sell for the highest and best price.  We’ll focus on what will attract buyers, and I will become your biggest advocate. My interest in green building and energy efficiency led me to earn certifications as: Earth Advantage Broker ADU Specialist Energy Trust Professional Trade Ally. I am committed to great service and being a resource long after your sale is done, so if you need a trades person or just an opinion, let’s chat.  I always appreciate your calls!
