While it’s always exciting for any buyer to find a house, there’s something even more special about helping an active duty (badass woman!) veteran buy her first home. Margo was referred to me when she returned home from serving in Afghanistan. Happy to know the VA loan was available to her, she was super excited to get started. After looking unsuccessfully at homes one day, she mentioned one more she thought might work. It happened to be vacant and we got in right away…and it was THE ONE. But the sellers already had an offer in hand and were looking to make a quick decision as they were leaving the country the next day. With a listing agent who was willing to work with us until 10:30 that night through a multiple offer situation (and scales tipped in our favor because the agent had already had great experiences with Living Room) we had our offer accepted!! I love making those “we got the house!” calls, but this was different. As a first responder medic working the front lines Margo could be called to active duty at a moments notice. I feel honored to have not only helped her find a home that she loves, but am also so grateful for her service and hope she always returns “home” safely.
