Migrating From Southern Oregon

By Beth Bonita, November 9, 2018

While walking through the backyard of their new home, Brian and Karen told me stories of how they wore N95 masks for a large portion of the past two summers, as dangerous smoke levels became the daily norm for them at their home in Southern Oregon. A concern over the continuing effects of climate change motivated them to search for a home elsewhere. Because they were used to the privacy and natural surroundings of living in a rural area they wanted to maintain some of that same feeling in their new Portland home. After a couple of weekend trips to Portland, and looking a few sad or awkward looking houses,  they found a pristine home in SW Portland surrounded by lots of trees.

Congratulations Brian and Karen!
