Hello! My name is Jake Grant. I was born in Los Angeles, California, but I was raised for nearly my entire life in Portland.

I grew up in Garden Home, where I attended preschool the Jewish Community Center up until 1st grade and then transferred to Arbor School of Arts and Sciences in Tualatin from 1st-8th grade. I attended Jesuit High School in Beaverton, where I was encouraged to partake in an active role in my community. My friends and I volunteered for food drives, participated in sports, and I lead in leadership roles on campus to help guide my fellow peers. Once I graduated high school, I attended the University of Wisconsin – Madison, where I studied psychology.

I knew this is what I wanted to study because I always found myself to be a patient person and an excellent listener, and majoring in the field allowed myself to strengthen these abilities. However, after considering multiple career fields as an upperclassman, I found myself fascinated in marketing and advertising, and I wanted to find a field where I could integrate these interests. Following my graduation, I relocated back to Portland and accepted an internship with Marathon Scholars, a local non-profit organization that involved guiding first-generation college students to and through college by means of providing mentorships and financial aid. Once the summer was ending and my internship was coming to a close, one of my friends who has been a broker for two years described her experience in real estate to me. I was awestruck – I would have the opportunity to develop lasting relationships with my clients and tie in my passions for marketing and advertising. The key factor that finalized my decision was knowing that I would be helping my clients through one of the largest and most stressful transitions of their lives; and that through demonstrating patience, consideration, and knowledge for my clients, I could make that transition remarkably easier. I finished my time at Marathon Scholars, earned my license as an associate broker and I’m extremely excited to begin my career at Living Room Realty.
