So much natural beauty right in our backyards, we should count our blessings. The Tualatin River winds its way for almost a hundred miles from the Coastal Range to the Willamette. And the lower half of it is ideal for water fun. Its gentle pace can be a great place for new and beginning swimmers to enjoy all the river has to offer. Wildlife abounds all through the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge through the farmlands and the outer-Portland metro area. There are ample parks all along the lower half of the river with parking and even a few places to rent canoes and kayaks, so there’s no excuse not to get out and soak up the subtle flow of the water and the lushness of the landscape.
