We Use Business As a Force For Good

As a company, Living Room donates 5% of our annual profit to local charities.

Every fall, we rally our community and collect coat donations to support local charity Impact Northwest. We’ve donated over 800 coats since this program began.

Through our Loving Room Fund, our agents have donated thousands of dollars to local nonprofits.

The Loving Room Fund

We created the Loving Room Fund so our agents can easily and effortlessly give back to their community. United in our efforts, we know we can do more to affect change and have a greater impact on the world around us. The success of our business is deeply rooted in our commitment to developing vibrant communities.

Our agents donate a percentage of every commission to one of the nonprofits we chose collectively. We’re currently partnering with the African American Alliance for Homeownership, Hoffman Center for the Arts, Rose Haven, and Taking Ownership PDX.

African American Alliance for Homeownership

AAAH provides housing counseling and homeowner assistance programs to African Americans and other underserved communities in the Portland, OR area. AAAH counselors are NCHEC trained and certified, and have adopted the National Industry Standards for Homeownership Education and Counseling. In addition to counseling, AAAH facilitates 8-hour Homebuyer Education Classes. Since beginning the classes in July 2005, approximately 1,800 prospective buyers have received class certificates and are now better prepared for the home buying process.

The Hoffman Center for the Arts is a place for artists, writers, musicians, and creators of all kinds. It’s for those curious about art and culture, who are looking for immersive experiences. It’s for those who are dedicated to learning and connecting to their creative spirit and to their community. And it’s for those who enjoy soaking up the artistic expression of their north Oregon coast neighbors.

Rose Haven

Rose Haven is a day shelter and community center serving women, children, and gender non-conforming folks experiencing trauma, poverty, and physical and mental health challenges. 3,383 people are served annually with 20,106 meals given, 5,105 hygiene kits distributed, and 3,473 one-on-one assistance in housing, job searches, and more.

Taking Ownership PDX

Taking Ownership PDX is a community-based organization providing free repairs to Black-owned homes and small businesses to combat gentrification by raising funds, using volunteer efforts, partnerships with other organizations and companies, and any resources we can utilize.
